| Beagle on tour | [MEDIA] |
| Beagle was spotted at Schloss Kranichstein, near Darmstadt in Germany, to celebrate the first 30 years of Logica who will be involved in Beagle 2 entry software. Interestingly when the Schloss was a hunting lodge
frequented by British Royals, its owner the Grand Duke had a favourite Beagle hound which he took to bed with him! |

| Paris symposium | [MEETINGS] |
| The first week of February sees the International Symposium "Mars Exploration Program and Sample Return Mission" in Paris. Colin will present "Beagle 2 - A lander for Mars" on 3 Feb. Many interesting sessions are
promised including exobiology, in situ analysis and martian meteorite studies. |
| Beagle 2 is approved likewise until the end of 1999. Whilst our current funding plan was acceptable to ESA, we will need to confirm further financial backing so that the future of Beagle 2 is assured to the launch date. |
