| Recording for Mars | [MUSIC] |
| Yesterday in London software engineers from Science Systems who are responsible for Beagle 2's on-board software joined forces with Blur to programme the specially written call sign into the source
code. TV and radio crews watched on. All communications from Beagle 2 back to Earth will start with the chosen notes of the music. |
| On the left Blur's Damon Albarn and Alex James entering the code into a project computer. And on the right, over coffee, Colin Pillinger, Alex James, Dave Rowntree and Roger Ward discuss the frequencies
of the notes in the signal. Both by photographer Jonathan Oppong-Wiafe. |
