| SIR - Having spent the past 30 years in electrical engineering, it came as a pleasant surprise to learn that the Beagle 2 equipment will be severely shock-tested before launch (Science, Apr. 3). However, I
have found that the true test of the engineer's skill is knowing exactly where to hit a failed piece of equipment to restore it. |
