Summary

Yesterday's pass of Mars Express over the Beagle 2 landing site failed to retrieve a signal from the lander despite Mars Express searching in a 'super-sensitive' mode.

Full story

Results have just been made available by ESA, after extensive processing of the large amounts of data received from the orbiter's canister mode search.

There are still opportunities to make contact with Beagle in the days to come. The most favourable opportunity will be on 12th January, the last Mars Express overpass that was pre-programmed into the lander before its separation from the orbiter on 19th December. However, this window will only be available if nothing has happened to reset or alter the lander's timeline.
